How America Lost Track of Ben Franklin’s Definition of Success

Pretty much everything that Ben Franklin is known for occurred after he retired from his printing business at the age of 42. We, on the other hand, pretty much work ourselves to the point we can’t go on in the hope that our retirement is a slow slide into the grave. For us, all that matters is how much money we’ve made. Franklin’s concerns were only that “the more likely tribute paid him after his death would be ‘He lived usefully'”.
