The evolution of beer and pop can tabs

When I was a kid, beer and pop cans required an opener and woe unto you if you didn’t have one. But as the cans changed from steel to aluminum (which has a taste I still don’t like), the danger and waste associated with the pull tabs became a problem that couldn’t be ignored.
