Beatrix Potter’s Picture Letters

Everyone knows that Beatrix Potter created Peter Rabbit and friends, but what’s lesser known is she began drawing Peter and other characters in letters she sent to the son of her former governess. The letters were filled with little drawings of anthropomorphic animals that bear more than a passing a resemblance to Peter and her other classic characters.

  1. Just thought you might be interested in the international society that fosters research, education and continued interest in B. Potter. New documents and unpublished art continues to turn up and is archived and safely maintained by various museums and the society. Membership in the society includes men and women from around the world.
