Open Source beer and Creative Commons

Believe it or don’t, but some breweries offer their recipes with a Creative Commons license. Scan the QR code on the bottle with your smartphone and get a recipe for the beer. You might not be able to 100% recreate the beer but you should be able to come close.

But the licensing brings up some questions about the true nature of NonCommercial part of the license. Does it mean you can’t sell beers made with the recipe or does it just prohibit for-profit sales, allowing such things as selling it to benefit a charity? There’s a lot of calls for Creative Commons to drop the license but they eventually decided to keep it, at least for now.
