Mike Wise in the Washington Post calls out an uncomfortable truth. Sandusky could not have done what he did for so long without having those around him who knew what was happening say nothing.
It’s pretty clear than Penn State officials knew when the barred him from bringing kids to the campus. Joe Paterno knew when McQueary came to him to tell him what he saw in the showers but didn’t bother to do anything beyond the absolute minimum required. His wife knew, of course, but she’s comfortable in her denial. Regardless, all of them could have saved those kids from sexual abuse yet none of them did. It’s time the law caught up to them as well.
