Blogging The Art of Possibility: Giving an A

I know that I said I was ending my Blogging The Art of Possibility series but I’ve picked up the book again and completed the third practice: Giving an A.

As you can guess from the title, it’s all about giving yourself and others an ‘A’ grade. Why? Two reasons, really. One is stop being so negative and critical. I know this because I am so hard on myself, I don’t ever give myself a passing grade let alone an ‘A’. The other is because when we do this, we set ourselves and others a goal that it’s assumed we will meet. It seems contradictory, but many times knowing ahead of time you’ll get that ‘A’ relieves the pressure and allows you to perform to your true potential.

It’s a difficult practice, as I’ve mentioned, and not one I think I can easily adopt. But it’s worth a try if you’re tired of beating yourself up over things in your life. We all can use an ‘A’ now and then.
