Newly discovered amateur video of Challenger disaster

The video, shot by Steven Virostek as he and his wife watched the launch, is particularly chilling as it mixes the official announcer’s “Obviously a major malfunction” with the voices of the observers.

Although we eventually resumed shuttle flights, this moment is when the dream of men in space truly ended.

  1. “this moment is when the dream of men in space truly ended.”

Where did you get this from? The idea of ‘men in space’ is alive and well. One day it will happen. You couldn’t be more wrong.

  2. The ISS is a dead end. The focus of most of NASA is on un-manned missions. Private companies are beginning to develop the capability but their incentives are certainly not exploration. Something significant will have to happen before your prediction comes true and I just don’t see it.
