This is the United States of America, not some third world hellhole, yet for many Americans it’s nowhere near the “greatest country on Earth”. We can do better for those Americans but what is it going to take for that to happen?

Dan Sayers wondered what the average of all the fonts he had installed on his computer looked like. So he combined them, ran them through some image processing software and created Avería – The Average Font. Avería resembles old letterpress printing, if you know what that looks like. Probably better for display use than text printing. Avería is free to download and use, if you’d like.
It’s taken a while, but craft beer brewing is no longer exclusively a boy’s club.
Trivia: Long ago, beer was made at home and by the woman of the house. In some areas they were called brewsters, rather than brewers, although that distinction has long since gone away. Brewster remains a popular surname in the UK, however.
