Tests Cast Doubt on F.A.A. Restrictions on Kindle and iPad

The FAA claims that electronic devices like iPads can cause interference with critical systems on airliners. But can they really? Nick Bilton takes a Kindle to an independent lab to see exactly what it puts out.

It should be noted that American Airlines recently announced they were equipping their cockpit crews with iPads. If they don’t cause a problem there, why can’t passengers use them?
