The end of the Space Age

I don’t want to believe that the Space Age is over, that we’re turning our eyes inward and shutting out the stars, but part of me thinks this Economist article just might be right.

I’m glad I saw us land on the Moon in 1969. I can tell you that I don’t think there have really been any technological/scientific achievements since that resonate quite the same with me. I’m not sure watching the Chinese land on the Moon (if indeed they do) will mean as much to me as seeing Apollo 11 do it the first time.
