The original Motorola Droid, which was launched less than a year ago, I rumored to be nearing end-of-life status. For computers, that wouldn’t be considered unusual, but for smartphones which require multi-year contracts it sucks. Sure, you can duck out of your contract early and pay an early termination fee, but that’s just adding insult to injury.
Of course, I’ve been through this before. My Treo was essentially unsupported by Palm for most of the time I had it. Ditto for my Motorola StarTac. I guess I have to hope the Android developer community doesn’t give up so soon.

At the same time as I really like a physical keyboard, after dealing with the Samsung Captivate for approximately quarter-hour, it’s laborious to move back. At this time I’m debating whether or not to visit Verizon for the Droid X, go to Sprint for the EVO, or stay with AT&T for the Captivate…selections, decisions.
