Today I rode the Bumblebeemer out to Jordan, in the Western end of Onondaga County. Jordan was on the original Erie Canal and had an aqueduct that carried the canal over Skaneateles (pronounced “skinny atlas”, really) Creek. There’s also an abandoned lock, 51, West of the village. Jordan was once a booming canal town but when the canal was rerouted in the early 20th century, Jordan lost it’s lifeblood. It’s a quiet little village now.
The aqueduct.

I was so concentrated on following the old canal route I never zoomed the map out to realize how close Jordan was to Syracuse. I can be such a geek sometimes.
That’s ok, I am such a geek myself sometimes I have to forgive you.
Next time on August 21!
P.S. what’s this I hear about you not blogging til September?
I’m going to be mostly offline, it was time for me to shut up anyway. That includes Twitter and Facebook but I will check email daily. I will likely still post to Flickr but I’m still undecided on that.
Or I might decide after less than a week that I would just quietly go back to business as usual.
Yeah I hear slowing down for summer, I started a book club, we might be getting a dog, and of course the house projects and wedding. But its ok b/c I go on vacation next week.
I have stopped checking Facebook at work so when I do check, it is very sporadic and meaningless and I don’t feel like I am missing anything.
Can’t get unaddicted to email though. Anyway, Love, Sarah
