Mayor Duffy is right to be considering eliminating most of the city’s take-home vehicles. It’s highly unlikely that all of those employees need to be able to respond 24/7, better to reimburse them for use of their own vehicles as necessary. It’s got to be cheaper than paying to maintain a vehicle that sits in a parking spot all day and in a driveway all night.
