The rise and fall of an American beer

Ever wonder how Bud managed to capture almost 50% of the beer market? Think of it as the “triumph of marketing over quality”. Lost forever are countless local breweries that actually made distinctive beers with flavor out of ingredients like barley malt and hops simply because they couldn’t out-market Anheuser-Busch. Luckily, the microbrewery movement has brought back the local brew idea and become the only segment of the beer market in the US to show any growth in recent years.
