Mythbusters, airplane on a conveyor belt

Jason Kot­tke live-blogged the Myth­busters show on whether an air­plane on a con­veyor belt would take off. If you’re new to this, the setup is a plane on a large con­veyor belt able to move at the same rate as the plane. As the plane begins to accel­er­ate, the belt moves in the oppo­site direc­tion. The ques­tion is whether or not the plane would take off from the con­veyor or sim­ply stay in place. Myth­busters answered that question.
