While I don’t make public most of my yearly goals, you can often infer some of them from the things I talk about. However, here’s one you’d probably not guess without knowing me fairly well.
Anyway. I’m working on getting my ham radio license. RARA, the Rochester Amateur Radio Association, offers testing every month and I’m outlooking the February sessions. I’ve been working on this goal on and off since high school (no, really), but I’ve never set it as a goal before. I’ve purchased the license study manual from the ARRL three times now, and two of them expired before I went for testing (I’ve been a member for years, oddly enough). I’m mostly interested in VHF (50Mhz and above) so the Technician license is a good fit for me. I can pass the exam now, based on my knowledge and education but I need more specific info to really do well. I realize this takes me from geek to colossal geek, but that’s the way it goes.
