As much as we’d like to put a face on the problem, calling for the ouster of the head of CPSC isn’t going to solve anything. Besides, the problem isn’t the CPSC, it’s industry that has abandoned US factories and US workers in order to wholeheartedly embrace Chinese manufacturing. The low wages, thanks to near-slave labor conditions, combined with low or non-existent regulations (environmental, safety, raw materials) makes for an attractive package, but it’s becoming hard to overlook the associated problems.
