Music industry attacks Sunday newspaper’s free Prince CD
Want to piss off the music industry dinosaurs? Release a CD in the Sunday paper. Prince’s new CD, Planet Earth, will be included in the Mail Sunday edition in the UK this weekend. While this is not the first time a paper has given away a CD, it is certainly the most controversial.
Prince has been using the net to distribute music for years, and it’s clear there’s no love lost with the record companies. I somehow doubt the threats are bothering him in the least.
Wired interviews Hans Reiser
After reading Hans Reiser: Once a Linux Visionary, Now Accused of Murder, I’m still unable to make up my mind as to his actual guilt. Reiser hasn’t done much to make himself look innocent, but that would seem to fit with his personality. I’d take a closer look at his former “friend” Sturgeon, if I were investigating this. There’s something wrong about him and I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew more than he’s willing to disclose.
It’s not even clear that his wife is dead, although there are certainly signs pointing in that direction. People have been convicted of murder despite lack of a body, so there’s no guarantee one way or the other once this gets to trial. All in all, this is probably going to make a great “true crime” book someday.

Can anyone tell me what the “V”-shaped formation in the river might be? It’s on the South side of the Broad St. bridge near the War Memorial.
