Judge recuses himself from Sierra DWI case

In case his DWI judgments weren’t perplexing enough, now John Connell has recused himself from a DWI case. This was after he suddenly withdrew a plea agreement, claiming the DA had misled him. A state supreme court judge is now handling the case.

Thank you S. K. Grimes

A while back I mentioned that I had sent my Speed Graphic’s shutter to S. K. Grimes in Woonsocket, RI for repair. Although I posted some pictures from the first post-repair roll, I thought I’d post one using Ilford Pan F film. This slow (ISO 50) film had forced me to use slow shutter speeds and that’s what showed my shutter wasn’t working well.

Outbuilding at Gonsenhauser’s farm in Rochester, NY, f8 @ 1/10.

Palm unveils Linux-based Foleo

Palm has released details about its Linux-based “mobile companion” called Foleo. But it’s really more of a companion for your smart phone than for you and it will cost $499. I’m not buying it (pun intended).

Universities respond to decline in computer science students

Universities respond to decline in computer science students by teaching something else. Yes, I know the article claims that they’re making it more appealing, but robotics, multimedia and web development are not Computer Science. They are activities that involve computers, but are totally separate.
