  1. Good move! WordPress is a pleasure.

    Some plugins that you might find useful:
    * Spam Karma 2 (absolutely incredible) — http://unknowngenius.com/blog/wordpress/spam-karma/
    * Audio Player (slick way to include audio on the site) — http://www.1pixelout.net/code/audio-player-wordpress-plugin/
    * Live (for the stat addicted, it shows the ip of someone on your blog while they are there, whether or not they are on the site or rss, if they are leaveing a comment etc) — http://www.headzoo.com/live
    * Flickr Photo Gallery (adds a tab on the upload box that allows you to easily paste several size pictures from your Flickr account) — http://www.tantannoodles.com/toolkit/photo-album/
    * Subscribe to comments (gives your readers the ability to request an email when someone replies to a particular comment thread) — http://txfx.net/code/wordpress/subscribe-to-comments/
    * Time Zone (automates daylight savings time adjustments so that the times on your posts are always correct) — http://kimmo.suominen.com/sw/timezone/

  2. I had used WordPress way back when on an internal web server at work and thought it was great. It replaced a Movable Type installation that crashed when the Berkeley DB got corrupted. I switched it to MySQL after that but the whole experience left a bad taste so I changed to WordPress and never regretted it.

    I’m still tinkering with things so thanks for the list of plugins.
