    I do not blame you. I just do not under­stand why somene like me, since I started work­ing down­town in 2001, would never step foot in that garage because it never looked safe. For the past four years, I would either walk or drive past that helix every day and would notice it slant­ing. And it is just not me, it was the opin­ion of many other peo­ple who would walk by the helix. Over time, it became a joke. Now it’s a joke that no engi­neer­ing equip­ment could have been used to tell us what my and numer­ous eyes could have told them.

    It was obvi­ous that the main struc­ture and the ramp had set­tled sep­a­rately. They had put up steel i-beams in the area as part of the last ren­o­va­tion but never seemed to do any­thing with the ramps them­selves. To be hon­est, I was more con­cerned that the main struc­ture would fail than the ramps, espe­cially with all the rust and bro­ken con­crete they were fix­ing. The ramp prob­lems were harder to see but far more serious.
