There’s a new look to the Angry Middleaged Man site, check it out!
Stephen Colbert is not Chimpy McAWOL’s best friend. He might have a nickname in the White House, but you can bet it’s not a cute one like “Pooty Poot”.
Unsurprisingly, the MSM has turned Colbert’s piece into one of the year’s under-reported stories. You might see mention that he was at the dinner, but you’ll more than likely hear only that Dubya did a bit with an impersonator.
I think I know what they were doing dumping all that dirt. It looks like it’s being used to protect the street and sidewalk from the heavy equipment that they’ll use to tear down the ramp.
By the way, I was hassled by a rent-a-cop not long after taking this picture. He mumbled something about “no taking pictures” and “police” but nothing too coherent. I told him I’d been taking pictures for days and would continue to do so but from a distance so he couldn’t see me. He laughed and so did I.
They’ve changed the South Avenue ramp demolition day to Monday for some reason (although I plan to visit on Sunday in case they’re trying to do it without an audience). In the meantime, they’re piling dirt all around the ramp. I have no idea why, anyone out there know why they’re doing this?
If you’re a US miner, you have to wonder if the Sago air pack malfunctions were an isolated incident, evidence that the air packs are unreliable or the result of inadequate training. I have an inherent mistrust of the company running Sago based on their horrible emergency incident management so I’m chosing to be sceptical until everything is fully investigated.
