My mom stopped smok­ing when she was diag­nosed with lung can­cer. It was too late to make any dif­fer­ence, unfortunately.

This story of peo­ple stranded on an Alberta ski lift is fas­ci­nat­ing, espe­cially when they men­tion that the most severe injuries were frost­bite. Maybe I’m con­fused, but shouldn’t skiers be the last peo­ple to suf­fer from frost­bite? Or is proper cloth­ing less impor­tant than fashion?

I’m going to be trav­el­ing for the Thanks­giv­ing hol­i­day, so have your­selves a safe and happy day. As a (lovely) part­ing gift, here’s a view of one of the bridge sup­ports under South Clin­ton Avenue.

It looks like grease­mon­key ver­sion 0.6.2.1 will work, at least par­tially. There may still be some scripts that don’t work.

You know, I love the grease­mon­key idea but my mis­take was to get used to hav­ing it even though it’s under devel­op­ment and nowhere near a 1.0 release.

I live on the South bank on the canal. The tow­path is pretty much unde­vel­oped (in some areas it’s nonex­is­tent) so there are still some rem­nants of an older time. For instance, these con­crete tele­phone poles. The wires are long gone, as well as most of the insu­la­tors but the poles them­selves remain.
