This is the same school dis­trict that sus­pended most of their var­sity ath­letes as a result of a unruly party that fea­tured alco­hol. The mother of the stu­dent who threw the party is cur­rently in front of a judge, hop­ing for a plea bargain.

Here, allow me to sum up the fast ferry’s prospects: fewer pas­sen­gers, lower rev­enues, larger debt. It’s time to be hon­est about it. It’s going to oper­ate at a loss for a long time (pos­si­bly for­ever), stop hid­ing that fact in the hope no one will notice. If the ferry has some value to the com­mu­nity, the losses can be tol­er­ated, but if not then let it go, now.
