Chances are, the bits that made up this page you’re read­ing came to you via a Cisco net­work router (or many of them). Cisco’s routers have their own oper­at­ing sys­tem, IOS. Like any soft­ware, IOS isn’t per­fect. As a mat­ter of fact, a researcher found a fairly seri­ous flaw in IOS. But it looks like Cisco is try­ing to silence him. He ended up quit­ting his job in order to deliver a paper on the flaw at a conference.
