Clear Chan­nel cre­ated a fake pirate radio sta­tion in Ohio that bled its sig­nal into other Clear Chan­nel sta­tions and even asked for dona­tions. They were caught and the sta­tion has dis­ap­peared. No won­der peo­ple are pay­ing for XM and Sirius.

One of Rochester’s most noto­ri­ous crim­i­nals is Anthony Leonardo Jr. He was a very high pro­file defense attor­ney who turned out to be as scummy as the dirt­bags he defended. He was con­victed of (among other things) con­spir­acy in the mur­der of his law part­ner by one of his clients.

Recently, some of the tran­scripts from a 2001 bail hear­ing have been unsealed. It’s pretty clear his con­vic­tion was jus­ti­fied. To say the least.

You have to won­der how “cor­rup­tion in the soft­ware” for the ferry’s propul­sion con­trol sys­tem could pos­si­bly occur. I’d expect such soft­ware to be in some type of non-volatile mem­ory (like Flash), sim­i­lar to the engine con­trol sys­tem in your car. Some cars can be upgraded by ser­vice peo­ple, oth­ers require a com­puter swap. Either way, it takes some­thing sig­nif­i­cant to change it. But here we have a multi-million dol­lar ship that seems to have had a change with­out an obvi­ous cause. Not encouraging.
