Maybe it’s me, but does this scheme for Win­dows Long­horn just turn things off if you don’t have a patch rather than take care of get­ting the patch for you? What if it’s legit­i­mate activ­ity? And how will it know it’s an attack if there’s no patch available?

I’m no fan, but I’m glad the secu­ri­ties fraud charge was dis­missed in Martha Stewart’s trial. To be hon­est, she did exactly what I would have done in the same cir­cum­stances. What I don’t under­stand is why the gov­ern­ment is so freakin’ angry at her, is it jealousy?

Emer­gency ser­vice work is inher­ently dan­ger­ous, but in Mis­souri it was even more so when a sniper opens fire at the scene of two houses explod­ing. One para­medic was shot, numer­ous pieces of equip­ment dam­aged and two homes com­pletely lost because the fire depart­ment was unable to oper­ate safely at the scene. The sniper remains at large.
