Wow. A new hard disk recorder for Linux Ardour has been released after three years of work. It looks to replace ADAT and soft­ware sys­tems like Pro Tools (which I use on Mac OS 9). A project of this mag­ni­tude is cer­tainly unusual for Open Source, and deserves your atten­tion if you use some­thing else for record­ing. Make sure you have good hard­ware, naturally.

I used to think the Dan­ger Side­kick was a cool device. Per­haps it is, but T-Mobile’s han­dling of it is noth­ing short of idi­otic. Any com­pany that thinks it can erase data from a device I own is obvi­ously being run by morons.
