Meanwhile, back at court, Microsoft and AOL settle the Netscape lawsuit for $750M. AOL also gets a seven-year deal to use IE in it’s product. Confusing? You betcha. But that’s business for you.

Finally, the long-rumored YOPY, a Linux-based PDA platform looks like it’s available.
Nullsoft, the WinAmp folks, have a new distributed communications protocol, WASTE that they’ve released as Open Source (GPL). The client is Windows-only.
One unique feature is the built-in security via RSA and Blowfish. They claim it’s for workgroups and small companies to use but I can imagine it may have other uses, as well (like small groups of file traders who don’t wish to reveal what they’re sharing).
