As part of their obvious need to cut costs, OSDN (Open Source Developers Network) is ending their affiliate agreement with kuro5hin.org. K5 has always had a “more than Linux” approach to things (which made it less strident than /.). Luckily, they’re not likely to die as a result.
Meanwhile, the owner of OSDN, VA Linux, is changing their name to VA Software. This reflects their retreat from the hardware business and, along with the OSDN changes, signals the beginning of a fight to stay alive. This is an important one for open source software, since VA whatever owns SourceForge, the hosting facility (and more) for thousands (28,759 at last count) of open source projects.

Apparently AT&T is abandoning fixed wireless, joining Sprint who announced likewise last week. This is disappointing, since I’m not in a DSL-eligible area and I don’t want cable. I had hoped that fixed wireless might be the answer for me, but it’s unlikely now. Ideas?

Unlike Scoble, I can’t remember all of the details about the accident I was in last year. I have yet to decide if that’s good or bad.

It seems the Talking Moose has discovered that the latest MSN Messenger (4.5) is spyware. Or is it now a integral part of the operating system? Or both?
